What is an exercise stress test?
The exercise stress test consists of recording your electrocardiogram (ECG) while you perform a progressive exercise on a treadmill or a stationary bicycle.
This examination makes it possible to observe the behavior of your heart under stress, revealing abnormalities that do not appear at rest. It is an essential tool for identifying possible myocardial ischemia (lack of oxygen in the heart muscle), exercise-induced rhythm disorders, or an abnormal blood pressure response. Performed under continuous medical supervision, the test is simple, non-invasive, and represents a key step in the cardiological work-up.
